Are these the same as traditional storage heaters?+
Not quite. These are direct-acting electric clay-core radiators. The core holds some warmth after the element switches off, but they are not designed to charge up overnight and heat all day like traditional Economy 7 storage heaters.
Are clay-core radiators cheaper to run?+
At point of use, resistance electric heaters turn roughly the same amount of electricity into heat. Better thermostats and schedules may reduce wasted heating, but running cost depends on wattage, hours used, tariff and your home. We would not promise automatic savings over every other electric heater.
Can you supply and install the radiators?+
We offer supply-only and installation quotations, with optional removal and disposal of existing heaters where arranged. Electrical work must be assessed and performed by a suitably qualified electrician.
What is covered by the guarantee?+
Product information describes a 30-year guarantee on the heater element/core and a separate two-year thermostat guarantee. Please ask us to confirm the precise terms and eligibility before purchase.
How do I know which size to choose?+
Use our room-size guide for an initial shortlist. To select safely and comfortably, consider insulation, windows, outside walls, ceiling height and desired temperature. We can discuss these details when quoting.
Do you offer smart or app-controlled models?+
Optional app-controlled radiators may be available. Ask us to confirm compatible models, app functions and connectivity for your chosen product before ordering.
Can off-peak night-storage circuits power the new radiators?+
The replacement radiators do not charge overnight. Old circuits may only be energised during off-peak hours. Your energy supplier can discuss the meter and supply arrangements, while a qualified electrician must assess any changes to the home wiring and sockets before installation.
Can you arrange removal of gas or oil central heating?+
Tell us if you need the existing boiler, radiators, pipework or oil tank decommissioned. We can assess the job and discuss specialist requirements during a survey. Gas work must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer; oil and tank removal may need an appropriate specialist.
Can I request a survey for several rooms?+
Yes. Add each room to the estimator, then request a quote or free virtual survey. Choose WhatsApp video, a phone call, another video call or photos by email. We will need to confirm an appointment with you.
How do I upgrade or change my night storage heaters?+
You can replace traditional Economy 7 night storage heaters with appropriately sized direct-acting electric radiators. Start with a room-by-room assessment, decide whether you need supply only or installation, and arrange safe removal of the old heaters if required. Use the free virtual survey to discuss your home.
Can my electricity supplier make off-peak night storage sockets live all day?+
Your energy supplier can advise on changing the meter, tariff or off-peak supply arrangement and may arrange relevant metering work. A qualified electrician must assess the property circuits and carry out any necessary wiring or socket changes so the replacement radiators have a safe, suitable full-time supply.
Do German electric radiators need to charge overnight?+
No. These direct-acting electric clay-core radiators heat when switched on and do not store a full day of heat from an overnight Economy 7 charge. They need a suitable electricity supply available whenever you want to use them.
Can you remove and dispose of my old night storage heaters?+
You can request a removal-and-disposal quotation with installation. Please tell us how many units you have and, if possible, their make or approximate age. Some older storage heaters need special handling, so removal arrangements must be confirmed before work begins.
Do I need to change my Economy 7 tariff when I replace storage heaters?+
Not necessarily. Ask your electricity supplier whether a single-rate or time-of-use tariff suits your new heating pattern. Remember to account for any off-peak hot-water heating before switching.
